Marj Kleinman
Marj Kleinman previously served as the Director of Digital Media at the Joan Ganz Cooney Center. She is passionate about creating joyful imagery that can uplift, inspire, and heal. She specializes in "Photo-Playdates" for kids and families, as well as portraits, events and documentary. Marj recently wrote and photographed a series on pediatric play for Toca Magazine. She has a featured gallery on Baphash Literary & Arts Quarterly and has exhibited on Governor's Island with the Art of Intuitive Photography. Marj has volunteered at Maimonides Infants & Children’s HospitalMemorial Sloan Kettering and the Hole in the Wall Gangcamp for kids facing serious illness. She's working with a few families to help them tell their stories of resilience through creativity and play. Marj has shot photography and video for many non-profits, including Smile TrainGames for Change, the Coalition for Healthy School FoodFountain HouseArtists for Alzheimer’sSmall Planet InstituteNY Open CenterNY Women’s FoundationNY Women in Film and Television and Child Life of Greater NY. Marj is also an award winning children’s media producer with more than 20 years experience creating educational games, interactive content and television for companies such as PBS KIDSScholastic, Noggin and Nickelodeon. Marj holds an M.A. in Educational Psychology from New York University and a B.S. in Theater Management from Emerson College. She has taught theater to children and photography to grownups.
