How can EdTech tools best serve the needs of diverse students and teachers? On Thursday, March 7, the Joan Ganz Cooney Center will host a SXSW EDU panel delving into the exciting potential of developing kid-centered products that facilitate authentic learning experiences and cater to the unique requirements of diverse students and educators.
In today’s edtech market, where a plethora of products promise to enhance teaching and learning experiences, the challenge lies in ensuring that these tools go beyond mere academic mastery. We must strive to create solutions that nurture inclusivity, empowerment, and engagement for all learners and educators
The panel features experts who are actively shaping the future of education technology. The discussion will focus on the benefits of involving students and teachers in the design process to ensure that digital products not only aid in mastering curricular goals but also inspire real engagement and deeper learning.
Moderated by Medha Tare of the Joan Ganz Cooney Center, speakers include:
- Joanna Cannon, Senior Program Officer, Walton Family Foundation
- Shayla Cornick, Project Director, Digital Promise
- Maria Janelli, Chief of Staff and Director of Research, Scratch Foundation
Together, they will discuss innovative approaches to co-design and highlight the collaborative efforts between innovators and funders to build a more inclusive edtech ecosystem that inspires authentic learning.
We invite you to join us for what promises to be a stimulating discussion on the future of educational technology and its potential to transform learning experiences for all.
