Mona Leigh Guha, PhD

Mona Leigh Guha is a researcher, designer, and educator focused on early childhood and children’s technology and media. She began her career as an early childhood educator with a focus on special education in public school classrooms. She has served as the director of the University of Maryland’s lab school, the Center for Young Children. Her current focus is on supporting co-design of technology and media with and for children, cultivated through work with the University of Maryland’s KidsTeam program, first as a graduate student and later as the leader of the program. Mona Leigh has also served as the Director of Research and Evaluation for PBS KIDS. She is committed to research that improves the field of children’s media and technology through listening to the voices of children. Mona Leigh holds a BS in early childhood education from Lock Haven University, an MS in Special Education from Johns Hopkins University, and a PhD in Human Development from the University of Maryland.
