Attention and Technology:
Youth with ADHD, their families, and the technology journey
The Joan Ganz Cooney Center at Sesame Workshop seeks teens and parents to participate in a research study. The study aims to understand how technology for youth might be better designed to support healthy development of attention.
We are recruiting 9th- and 10th-grade students as well as parents of 7-12-year-old children.
Are you a rising 9th- or 10th-grader with ADHD?
Would you like to participate in a Youth Research and Advisory Group in either New York City or San Francisco to contribute to new, better technology for youth?
Commitment:
The Youth Research and Advisory Group will meet three times– twice over Zoom and once in person. You will be asked to reflect on your own experiences and then brainstorm solutions to new and improved tech features that help you engage in healthy ways that meet your needs.

Participants in the Teen Research and Advisory Group will receive the following:
- $50 gift card for in-person session
- $25 for each virtual session
- $10 bonus for attending all
- (Totalling $110 for full participation.)
Are you the parent of a child 7-12 years old who has ADHD?
Would you like to participate in a focus group with other parents to share your experience parenting around technology?
Each participating parent will join a single focus group, offered on either a weekday evening or weekends locally. Groups last about 2 hours from start to finish.
You will be asked to reflect on your tech-related parenting, and the impact of your child’s ADHD on household tech use.

All parent focus groups meet a single time and involve a ~2 hour commitment. Participants will receive a $50 gift card for their time.
