Playing to Learn: Lessons From Game Design Gurus

How can the engaging power of games be used to promote playful learning? Three design experts share lessons learned from applying the latest research to produce games that are both popular and transformative. Whether the aim is to tap into a parent-focused consumer market, enter the formal K-12 space, support informal spaces like museums and libraries or just build a more effective user experience, this session will address the potential for games and learning. Panelists will take us behind the scenes of successful groups like LEGO and Nickelodeon to offer best practices for research gathering, iterative design and user feedback. After sharing examples of their most recent successes and failures, the panel will answer questions from the audience.

The Joan Ganz Cooney Center’s Managing Director, Michelle Miller, will be moderating this panel!
